  • Separate graduate departments and quotas for the Anam Campus and Sejong Campus were established.

  • KU transitioned to a research-oriented university system.

  • The comprehensive development plan for KU Graduate School was designed.
  • The Integrated Master's and Doctoral Program was created.

  • The university-research-industry collaboration program was established with Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd.
1996
  • The interdisciplinary collaboration program was created.
1990
  • The university-research collaboration program was established with KIST (Korea Institute of Science and Technology).
1980
  • The graduate administration was expanded and divided into three systems: the humanities and social sciences, natural science, and medical science.
1977
  • The student quota system changed from departmental quota to field quota.
  • Master's students were recruited for 43 departments in six divisions and doctoral students for 39 departments in six divisions.
1972
  • KU merged with former Woosuk University.
  • The first master's and doctoral students of medicine graduated.
1954
  • KU returned to the Anam Campus.
1953
  • The Graduate School Committee was established (President Yu-Chin-O chaired both the Graduate School and the Graduate Committee)
  • Former KU President Hyun Sang-Yun was awarded a Ph.D. degree in literature for authoring History of Confucianism in Joseon (朝鮮儒學史).
  • The first master’s degrees were conferred (to four graduates).
1949
  • The KU Graduate School (Master’s and Doctoral programs) was established.
  • Yu Chin-O took office as the first dean of the Graduate School.
