The Roh Moo-hyun Foundation is accepting applications for the 2025 Student-led Research Project Grant Competition to support outstanding research initiatives led by graduate students.
Application Period: August 13, 2025 (Wed) – September 8, 2025 (Mon)
Eligibility:

Current master’s program students enrolled at universities in Korea (on leave of absence not eligible)

Applications must include the supervising professor as a participant

Teams may apply (funding will cover both the research team and supervising professor)
Research Theme:
-
Balanced National Development
-
Subtopics: Local autonomy and central government relations, regional and local identity, regional economic revitalization (including urban regeneration), etc.
Funding:
-
Total of 4 research projects to be supported
-
KRW 4,000,000 per project (KRW 1,000,000 for supervising professor + KRW 3,000,000 for master’s student researcher)

Final Selection: September 12, 2025

Research Period: September 15 – December 14, 2025

Final Report Submission: December 15, 2025
Special Notes for Awardees:

Outstanding final papers will receive awards

Selected researchers will have the opportunity to present their work at an academic conference hosted by the Foundation in celebration of the 22nd anniversary of the National Balanced Development Declaration
