Graduate Student-Only 24-Hour Reading Room (90 seats) – Central Plaza Room 103
Located in Central Plaza B103, the 24-hour reading room exclusively for graduate students is a space improved through discussions with the Graduate Student Council to enhance research immersion and academic achievement. It includes individual carrels, standing reading desks, partitioned desks, and a digital signage screen at the entrance. The space is designed with green-oriented interiors and air-purifying plants to overcome the limitations of underground research spaces, creating a comfortable and pleasant research environment



Career Coaching Room – Central Library (Graduate School)
Located in Room 102 of the Central Library (Graduate School), the Career Coaching Room is designed to support successful career development for graduate students. It is divided into spaces for individual and small-group coaching, and is used as a hub for efficient coaching and various career development programs.

3rd Floor – Science Library
The 3rd floor of the Science Library includes: Project Play for a space for short-term research projects; Re-Think Space for long-term research projects; Carrels for individual focused research; Legacy Lounge for showcasing the history of natural sciences and the legacy of “Science KU”; this space communicates the legacy and history of the Natural Sciences Campus.
Graduate Student-Only Carrels (30 seats) – SK Future Hall
- Application Date & Method : Early February and August — Check notices on the Graduate Student Council website, Koreapas, or KakaoTalk Plus Friend messages.
- Eligibility Criteria
- - General graduate students currently enrolled or who have completed coursework (including Anam and Sejong campuses)
- - Students of professional and special graduate schools are not eligible
- - Users of the Thesis Writing Room or Central Library carrels are not eligible
- - Must have paid the student council fee for the relevant semester
- - Selection is by random draw
- Usage Period : 6 months [Weekdays 09:00 a.m. ~ 10:00 p.m.]
- Deposit & Locker Fees:
- - (Mandatory, to GSC) Student Council Fee: 15,000 KRW (only for those who haven’t paid previously)
- - (Mandatory, to SK Future Hall) Access card deposit: 10,000 KRW
- - (Optional, to SK Future Hall) Locker key deposit: 11,000 KRW
(Locker usage fee (6 months): Medium/Large: 12,000 KRW / Small: 6,000 KRW) - - Payment location will be announced to selected applicants. All fees are paid in full upon initial assignment.
- - Deposits are refundable upon return after the usage period (non-refundable if lost).
- - Locker usage fees are non-refundable.

Graduate Student Thesis Writing Room (50 seats) – Central Plaza B122
Located in Room B122, Central Plaza basement, this room is a designated research space for Master’s and Doctoral students. Operated with assigned seating, each seat includes a personal locker. Graduate students seeking individual research space are encouraged to apply.
- Application Period & Method : Early June and December — Check carrel-related application notices on the GSC website, KoPASS, or KakaoTalk Plus Friend messages
- Eligibility
- - Master’s: Students enrolled for 3+ semesters or have completed coursework
- - Doctoral: Enrolled or coursework-completed students
- - Students of professional and special graduate schools are not eligible
- - Users of SK Future Hall or Central Library carrels are not eligible
- - Must have paid the student council fee for the relevant semester
- - Selection is by random draw
- Usage Period : 6 months [Open year-round, 24 hours]
- Application Method : Apply through the General Graduate Student Council website [www.krgs.org] → Facility Use → Thesis Writing Room Application → Apply for the current semester’s thesis writing room
- Selection Method : Adjusting the Master’s/Doctoral ratio based on applicants, 50 seats will be allocated by random draw
※ Selection is allowed for up to two consecutive times; those selected three times consecutively will be disqualified and the seat will be reassigned to the next in line.

Graduate Seminar Rooms
To use seminar rooms in the Graduate School building, log in at the Korea University Portal (portal.korea.ac.kr), then go to: Information Life → Space Management and Reservation → Submit Reservation Request.
2nd Floor Carrels – Central Library
The Central Library carrels (individual study rooms) are located on the 2nd floor. Each includes power, LAN, and a personal study desk.

- Eligible Applicants
- (1) Lecturers currently employed at KU (applications canceled if not teaching during 1st semester 2025)
- (2) KU graduate students (Master’s/Doctoral) enrolled in a thesis submission semester and planning to register
(Applicants will be disqualified if not in a thesis semester or not registered)
※ Applications under someone else’s name may result in cancellation and suspension of library privileges.

- Selection Method : Public random draw (Those present on the draw day have priority; proxies not allowed)
※ Carrel use is allowed once during your degree program (Master’s/Doctoral)

Graduate Student Lounge – New Engineering Building, Natural Sciences Campus
Since March 2019, a lounge has been operated in the basement of the New Engineering Building for rest and sleep for graduate students.
Women’s Lounge – Graduate School Section, Central Library
The women’s lounge (nap room) located on the 1st floor of the Graduate School section of the Central Library was remodeled in 2021 and is currently in operation.
Efforts to maintain a clean environment include regular ventilation and the periodic laundering of blankets.
