Research Support

Application Guidelines and Restrictions
  • Duplicate applications for programs with similar topics are not allowed.
  • If project periods overlap, applicants may serve as the principal investigator (PI) for only one project, but may participate in multiple projects as a co-researcher.
    (If it is later confirmed that an individual is serving as PI for more than one project, scholarship eligibility will be revoked.)
  • Applicants may not apply as PI for multiple projects with overlapping selection periods.

Graduate Student Academic Research Group Support Program (Administration Team, Graduate School)

Program Objectives
  • 1. Strengthen graduate students’ research capabilities through collaborative and interdisciplinary research
  • 2. Encourage the formation and sustainability of academic research groups exploring new academic fields and topics
Eligibility
  • Research groups consisting of currently enrolled or coursework-completed graduate students at Korea University

    ※ Professional graduate school students participating in the 4th Stage BK21 project are also eligible

    ※ The group must include a representative student (principal researcher) who meets all of the following criteria

  • Currently enrolled in the General Graduate School or a professional graduate school under the 4th Stage BK21 Project
  • Must have at least two semesters remaining before graduation
  • Each research group must hold a minimum of 8 meetings per year
Period

Program runs for approximately one year (until the following February)

Financial support for group activities such as printing, materials, and meeting expenses

  • Graduate students currently enrolled or who have completed coursework at Korea University

STATA Basic/Advanced Training (Innovation Team, Graduate School)

  • Eligibility : Graduate students, early-career researchers, etc.
  • Overview : Training on empirical research methods in social sciences using the statistical software STATA, along with small-scale research projects.

Graduate Student Interdisciplinary Research Group: RCP (Research Challenger Program) (Teaching and Learning Enhancement Center)

A program supporting self-organized research groups to share expertise and conduct joint research over 6 months.

  • Eligibility : Graduate students enrolled at Korea University (Seoul Campus), teams of 2–6 members
    The team leader must be affiliated with a BK21 Four education-research group during the entire program period.
  • Overview : Graduate students majoring in at least two different sub-disciplines form a team to conduct research on shared topics of interest.
  • Program Registration : Sign-up for the program in the first half (May–June)
  • Period : 6-month program (24 weeks)
  • Support : Up to 3 million KRW per team

Provides English editing support for papers to be submitted to international journals, aiming to promote international research publications.

  • Eligibility
    • Early-career researchers affiliated with a BK21 Four group, listed as the first or corresponding author, with Korea University affiliation stated in the manuscript
    • Graduate students listed as the first or corresponding author, with Korea University affiliation stated in the manuscript
  • Target Journals : SCIE, SSCI, A&HCI, SCOPUS (English-language papers only)
  • Support Amount : Up to 600,000 KRW per paper (including re-editing)
  • Application : Submit through MS Office form provided by the Research Promotion Team

Digital Research Profile Production (Research Promotion Team)

Production and online promotion of lecture-style videos that showcase the outstanding research achievements of KU faculty members, aimed at internal and external audiences.

  • Application Requirements : Ability to plan, film, and edit videos
