BK21 K-3MT Competition
Korea University will host the inaugural national final of the 2026 BK21 K-3MT Competition,
bringing together graduate students from 28 universities nationwide participating in Phase 4 of the BK21 program.
This three-minute research presentation competition, conducted in English, offers audiences an accessible and engaging introduction to their research.
3MT (Three Minute Thesis) is a research presentation competition that originated at the University of Queensland, Australia, in 2008.
Today, it is held in many countries, including Australia and the United States, to help graduate students develop their research communication skills.
Participants present their research in English in just three minutes using a single slide,
with the goal of communicating their research and its significance in a way that is easy for non-specialist audiences to understand.
Following institutional competitions at 28 universities, a total of 61 students competed in the semifinals, with 23 finalists advancing to the national final.
Everyone is welcome to attend! Come and enjoy the finalists’ presentations, and take part in the on-site voting for the Audience Choice Award.
